About the Artwork

Inspired by a nightmare I had, trapped by fears that had been reality, I am frozen. The beliefs I hold about myself and my future carry the weight of the generations before me. Believing differently and having hope is far out of reach, barred by expectations and loose projections, how do I live truly free?

Artist Bio

Passionate about creating art since childhood, beginning with early experiences through the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program and participating in the Boys and Girls Club in Charlotte. These opportunities helped lay the foundation for her artistic journey. Over the years, she’s developed a diverse body of work that explores abstract expression, ceramics, typography, and mixed media. Her practice is rooted in experimentation and storytelling, blending traditional techniques with contemporary approaches. Now, as an art teacher, she shares her love for creativity with students, inspiring the next generation to explore and express their own artistic voices.
