About the Artwork

Broken Chain, Rising Sun captures the power of art and music as forces of freedom. The figures, once bound in chains, break free through the act of creation—the painter raising his brush and the musician strumming her guitar. Radiant beams of sunlight symbolize hope, renewal, and the unyielding spirit of liberation. Yet within the show’s theme, the work also invites reflection: is freedom found in the art itself, or is it an illusion we create to transcend struggle?

Artist Bio

Art has been a lifelong passion since childhood, but it was during retirement and the pandemic that I truly returned to it with purpose. I began painting portraits as a form of healing and self-expression. Inspired by my daughter, art school teacher, I embraced this creative journey. Each piece reflects emotions, resilience, and transformation-turning quiet moments into meaningful art that connects, uplifts and tells a story through the power of paint.
